WandaVision: DATE,CAST, TRAILER, PLOT AND ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW

WandaVision is one of the Marvel and Disney + series that you have to see to understand Marvel phase 4. Kevin Feige , the “Big Man” from Marvel Studios, revealed the series that premiere on the Disney + streaming platform will be connected with the new movies and that, if you don’t want to miss a single detail and want to understand the evolution of the characters and their new stories, you have to be aware of what happens on the small screen (aka streaming).

Disney + already broke it with The Mandalorian (we didn’t know we needed a Star Wars series until we saw it), but that’s just the beginning, for the next few years it has prepared a few series that emerge from the Marvel Cinematic Universe , one of the most important is WandaVision, starring Paul Bettany as Vision and Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlett Witch .

Marvel has been canceling shows like there’s no tomorrow (Daredevil, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones were their first victims), but that’s because they are preparing for something big now that they have the power of Disney on their side.

The Scarlett Witch and Vision series will be connected to the sequel to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (Marvel’s first “horror”), and will be one of the first MCU series to debut on the new streaming platform of Disney that has not yet arrived in Mexico (but there are other options to see it).

There aren’t many details about WandaVision , but we already know a few things and the trailer that Marvel released during Super Bowl 2020, which also shows details of Loki and the Falcon and Winter Soldier series gave us a first look.

The teaser reveals that Wanda, aka Scarlett Witch, and Vision are trapped in what appears to be an alternate reality that they are living in on different 1950s TV series, which seems to confirm that, to deal with the pain of having Lost to Vision in the battle with Thanos, Wanda created a new reality in which they could be together.

The release date

Originally, the series about the android and the witch (who could have defeated Thanos in a fight) would premiere in 2021 , but Disney + revealed in a new announcement that it would arrive much earlier than expected. At some point in 2020.

The Cast

Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen will be reprising their MCU characters . Additionally, during Disney’s D23 Expo (where the poster was revealed), it was revealed that three characters will be joining WandaVision , two from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and one rookie. Kat Dennings and Randall Park will be reprising their MCU roles as Darcy Lewis and Agent Jimmy Woo, respectively, and Kathryn Hann will be playing a gossipy neighbor.

Teyonah Parris (If Beale Street Could Talk) also joins WandaVision as Monica Rambeau, a character she originally appreciated as a child in Captain Marvel.

The history

There are not many details, but everything seems to indicate that it will be located in the 50s and that they will find a way to bring Vision back (he died in Infinity War) with the help of Doctor Strange.

“There are quite a few other comic books that we are working on and it will be Wanda and Vision, and I think in the Disney + launch chat, they showed a photo of us in the 1950s,” Olsen said in an interview with Variety. This seems to indicate that we are going to look at these characters’ lives as a couple, but there is definitely a possibility that it is all a figment of Wanda’s imagination as she is dealing with the trauma of Vision’s death .

Some believe that Wanda will create a fantasy world in which she and Vision can be together (a world similar to what happens in the Legion series, in which they take us inside the mind of a powerful mutant who creates an alternate reality to deal with. with their problems). The only thing that is clear is that it takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige himself described the series in a rather intriguing way, saying it was “half a half classic, half MCU comedy sitcom.”

Synopsis and theories

Marvel Studios has not offered details of the WandaVision plot , except that it involves two characters from the Marvel Universe. Because Vision is one of the superheroes who died at the hands of Thanos in the movie Avengers: Infinity War (2018), it is possible to imagine that the Vision that we will see in the series is not real, but is a mental creation of Wanda / Scarlet Witch, who has the power to alter reality.

It could be then that the series is about how Scarlet Witch imagines her life with Vision would have been in a home in the style of American TV.

That would be the reason why in the   Disney Plus teaser we see six different versions of Wanda: one in a black and white recorded stage, which seems taken from a series from the 1960s, such as  Leave It to Beaver  (1957-1963 ); another, already in color, shows Wanda pregnant and in an identical house in view in  The Brady Bunch  (1969-1974), in a style typical of the 1970s; and one that resembles a  sitcom  from the 1980s, like  Family Ties  (1982-1989), in which Wanda and Vision are the parents of two babies. There is even a shot where the character is seen in the classic Scarlet Witch costume from the comics.

The series is likely to be inspired by a comic series titled The Vision and the Scarlet Witch Vol. 2 (1985) in which Wanda becomes pregnant and gives birth to two babies.

If Scarlet Witch suffers from the loss of Vision and is capable of altering reality – as seen in  Avengers: Age of Ultron  (2015) – perhaps the series is about how the character loses his mind or control of the multiverses that is able to create.

And it makes sense that the show connects  directly with the movie  Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness  (2021). One theory, outlined by the YouTube channel  Screen Crush , is that Wanda cannot control these realities, so she seeks out Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) as a mentor.
