Bridgerton, Season 2: Netflix Release Date, Cast, Trailer, Plot and all you need to know

To the delight of all “Bridgerton” fans, Lady Whistledown has made the announcement that a second season will appear. Only the main role will be different this time.

After the great success of the first season of “Bridgerton”, which was followed in 68 million households after just four weeks and was number 1 in Netflix publications in 76 countries, a second season has finally been confirmed. The announcement comes from none other than the mysterious Lady Whistledown, who in the first part caused constant turmoil among the British elite.

The novel-based series takes place in the Regency era, an epoch of the early 19th century, shows the life and dance balls of London’s high society and follows the romantic quest of Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor), the daughter of a powerful British family of elite class At a time when marriage was the most important thing for a young lady, Daphne received very little attention from the bachelors, even though none other than the Queen (Golda Rosheuvel) herself, she as “flawless” and the “jewel” of the ball season designated.

An embarrassment for the whole family when the young debutante became the target of mysterious writings. Each of these gossip papers, which spread rumors and intrigue, is signed by a mysterious Lady Whistledown; a woman who doesn’t seem to miss anything. This is followed by a purposeful romance with the Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page), based on a lie, in order to put the lady’s reputation back into perspective – with consequences.

The series has become a hit and has brought its protagonists Phoebe Dynevor and Regé-Jean Page into the international spotlight. At the same time, the final scene delivered a plot twist that excites fans mightily – if the real person behind the mysterious author is still not uncovered by her contemporaries, she becomes the immediate main character in the second part of the hit series.

The second season of “Bridgerton” could come later this year, Netflix usually relies on a yearly rhythm for its series, which would mean that we could expect the second season in December 2021. One thing is already clear, however: “The cast of” Bridgerton “will return to production this year,” says the letter that Netflix published on Instagram. In addition to the two main actors from season 1 on board: Golda Rosheuvel, Jonathan Bailey, Luke Newton, Claudia Jessie, Nicola Coughlan, Ruby Barker, Sabrina Bartlett.
