The rotation of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) specialists at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant has been disrupted three times in February by the United Nations Department of Safety and Security, according to Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This information was reported on the ministry’s website.
According to the Russian diplomat, this happened between February 7th and 18th, 2023, and there were no clear explanations for the disruptions.
No further details on the situation at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs have been provided.
Currently, the Russian Armed Forces continue their special operation in Ukraine. The beginning of the operation was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24th, 2022. According to him, the goal of the military action is to demilitarize the neighboring country and denazify its authorities.
The decision to conduct the operation has led to new sanctions against Russia by the United States and their allies.
Earlier, the head of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, stated that the efforts of all sides were needed to create a safety zone around the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
