The Governor of the Belgorod Region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, reported in his Telegram channel that a plane of the Ministry of Defense of Russia had crashed in the Valuysky city district.
“A plane of the Ministry of Defense has crashed in the Valuysky city district. Currently, an investigative group and emergency services staff are working at the scene,” wrote Gladkov.
The cause of the incident is being investigated, the governor noted.
He also assured that the situation is under control.
The model of the aircraft is not specified.
According to TASS with reference to the security forces, the crashed aircraft of the defense department is a tactical frontline bomber Su-24. According to an agency source, the aircraft crashed on the outskirts of a village, and the pilot managed to eject.
On February 22, the Governor of the Belgorod Region reported an attack on the city of Shebekino from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Three houses were damaged, and windows were shattered.
