On Wednesday morning, Russian missile strikes struck Kyiv and several other cities, resulting in at least one fatality and multiple injuries, as reported by Ukrainian authorities.
Vitali Klitschko, the Mayor of Kyiv, stated that a Russian missile, when downed, damaged power lines, leaving some households in the capital without electricity.
In the southern city of Mykolaiv, officials confirmed the death of one individual due to a downed Russian missile.
At approximately 06:00 local time (04:00 GMT), the entire country was placed under air alert.
Mayor Klitschko reported nine injuries in the capital, including a pregnant woman.

Mykolaiv’s Mayor, Oleksandr Senkevich, mentioned that one person, initially hospitalized, succumbed to injuries following the missile attack. The incident caused damage to homes and disrupted gas and water supplies, with on-site medical treatment for other victims.
Explosions were also noted in Kharkiv, accompanied by reports of infrastructure damage by military authorities.
The Ukrainian air force reported the detection of Russian cruise missiles above the western regions of Lviv, Ternopil, and Ivano-Frankivsk.
Since Russia’s invasion on February 24, 2022, Ukraine has faced frequent air attacks, featuring various weapons such as drones and missiles deployed by Russian forces.
