Sea Drone Incident Concludes at Russia’s Crucial Black Sea Port

The mayor of Novorossiisk, a major Russian Black Sea port city, issued a sea drone alert on Thursday morning that lasted over two hours as a group of unmanned Ukrainian boats was destroyed near Crimea.

In his initial message on the Telegram app, Mayor Andrei Kravchenko urged residents to avoid the city’s shoreline. Ukrainian sea drones have previously attacked Russian ships near the port, disrupting traffic.

Novorossiisk is Russia’s largest Black Sea port and a critical hub for exporting crude oil and oil products from the south. It also handles oil from Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, along with grain, coal, fertilizers, timber, food, and chemical cargoes.

Additionally, the TASS news agency reported that the Russian defense ministry stated 10 Ukrainian sea drones were destroyed as they approached Crimea, and 33 air drones were destroyed over the peninsula overnight.
