ussia launched a series of attacks on the northeastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv and its surrounding region on Wednesday, resulting in three deaths, at least six injuries, and damage to the office of a Swiss mine-clearing NGO, local officials reported.
Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, and the adjacent region, which borders Russia, have been heavily bombarded by drones, missiles, and guided bombs since Moscow’s full-scale invasion began in February 2022.
Regional police reported that a strike on the town of Lozova, south of Kharkiv, killed three people and injured six, with rescue operations continuing into the evening.

Governor Oleh Syniehubov stated that an overnight strike destroyed the facade of the Fondation suisse de dรฉminage’s office and damaged the ceilings of several floors. Six cars used by the group’s medics were also damaged. He emphasized the critical role of demining efforts in this region, which is heavily littered with landmines and other war remnants.
Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported five separate strikes on the city since Russia’s overnight attack, with the latest hitting an industrial area and injuring six people. Police noted that unspecified infrastructure was destroyed in this attack, including damage to vehicles.
Late in the evening, Syniehubov reported new strikes, and local media reported explosions outside the city after midnight, though there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
