Chrisland school principal, others arraigned for manslaughter

The Lagos state government on Thursday punished Chrisland School, Opebi, the principal, the assistant principal, and two staff members for the death of a student at the school, 12-year-old Whitney Adeniran.

The school staff charged before Lagos State High Court Judge Oyindamola Ogala in Ikeja included Ademoe Adewale, Kuku Fatai, Ms. Belinda Amao, Nwatu Ugochi Victoria, and Chrisland School Limited.

The defendants were charged with two counts bordering on murder, a reckless and negligent act frowned upon by the state.

On the wharf, the principal, Ibu Belinda Amao, wept as the court and lawyers tried to set a date for the trial to start.
