Robert Downey Jr., known for playing Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, could be one of the biggest bets to star in future Star Wars production.
While most people believed that after Star Wars Episode IX, Disney had killed the franchise with a film that appeared to have been written with scenes and plots randomly drawn from Chinese lucky cookies, the Disney+ series, The Mandalorian, has given the franchise an unexpected new life.
Overall, Disney’s streaming service has achieved unmatched success and it seems that the future will be promising, as fans are awaited by many original productions, such as WandaVision which will soon premiere with two episodes.
Now, several sources suggest that Robert Downey Jr. will make a debut as a high-ranking character in one of the new Star Wars series, mainly placing him as the main villain in the Star Wars Rebels series, Grand Admiral Thrawn.
In fact, actress Rosario Dawson, who plays Ahsoka Tano, mentioned that the military leader in his appearance in The Mandalorian, plus a show typical of the character called “Ahsoka” is expected.
As rumors began to run, the universe of Star Wars fans on Twitter went crazy and even created iron man actor designs like this villain from a distant galaxy.
We could expect this rumor to materialize as John Favreau, one of the managers of this new Star Wars universe, was also director of the Iron Man films and participated as the happy character, Tony Stark’s security officer at the MCU, so it’s not crazy to say he’s a great friend of Downey Jr’s after working more than ten years together.
In other news from the Star Wars universe, it has been released that the new film will be in the hands of Loki’s screenwriter.
