Doctor Who and Emmerdale actor Richard Franklin dies

Actor Richard Franklin, known for his roles in Doctor Who and Emmerdale, passed away at the age of 87, as confirmed by a spokesperson for his family.

The family’s statement revealed that Richard peacefully passed away while sleeping, following a prolonged battle with illness. His departure has left them profoundly saddened, and they will cherish memories of his generosity, creative passion, and captivating storytelling.

Beyond his familial connections, Richard is fondly recalled for his extensive career in both television and theater. Throughout his long-running career, he brought joy to audiences of all ages.

Mr. Franklin, renowned for his portrayal of Captain Mike Yates in the enduring BBC One sci-fi series, passed away serenely in his sleep on Christmas Day, as reported by a close friend.
