Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings came as a surprise when it was first announced as part of the new phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And, while some well-known heroes will appear in series (such as WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier ), Marvel is betting on a very interesting new character that could become one of the most important additions to the Universe.

Shang-Chi is a skilled martial arts expert who is drawn into the Ten Rings organization , forced to confront a complex past that he thought was left behind.
Who is Shang-Chi?
Shang-Chi made his debut in 1973 in the Bronze Age of Comics, and has beaten different superhuman opponents , being one of the strongest and most skilled humans on Earth. Even Ares points out him as one of the few mortals who can fight a God without using magic.
What are the Ten Rings?
In the comics, the villain called The Mandarin has 10 rings that he wears on each finger of his two hands, which have powers that cannot be explained by earth science, and each one has special characteristics with different powers.
The ring on the little finger on the left hand (Zero) emits cold waves that can stun an opponent. In the right hand is the power of the Black Light (NightBringer), which can create an area of pure darkness and absorbs light.
The left hand ring finger ring ( The Liar) magnifies the wearer’s psionic energy allowing him to control other people’s minds. On the right hand is ” Spectral “, which emits a beam of energy that destroys the bonds between atoms and molecules.
” Lightning ” is the power of the ring of the middle finger of the left hand, emitting electricity. ” Giro ” is the one in the left anus, allowing the air to create tornadoes.
The ring of the index finger ( Incandescence ) emits infrared radiation or heat, in that of the right hand ( Influence ) it can create magnetic waves that can attract or repel objects.
On the left thumb is the Daimonic ring , which can emit different types of energy, and on the right the “ Reconstructor ” that can rearrange the atoms and molecules of a substance or accelerate or slow its movement to have various effects. .
Who stars in the film?
Canadian actor Simu Liu , who is best known for his role Jung Kim on the series Kim’s Convenience, plays Shang-Chi, while the acclaimed Awkwafina will play her friend Katy.
The villain appears to be The Mandarin / Wenwu played by Tony Leung. Marvel fans will remember that the character had been mentioned in Iron Man 3 , where it is revealed that he is supposedly a con man, so this could be the true version of the character.
In addition to them, Fala Chen, Meng’er Zhang, Florian Munteanu, Ronny Chieng and Michelle Yeoh will appear in the film , this being the first Marvel cast to be mostly of Asian origin.
When is Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings released?
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings has an official release date of July 9, 2021, however, it is not known if there will be any changes to the calendar due to the Coronavirus pandemic. It was originally going to be released on February 12, 2021, the first day of the Chinese New Year, but it had to move.
Will we see other Marvel characters?
At the moment the participation of any other Marvel character has not been confirmed , however, the mention of the Mandarin and some rumors indicate that the death of Iron Man will have to do with the beginning of this story, so we may see the character in flashbacks, and we cannot rule out the appearance of other actors. Benedict Cumberbatch could have a role in this story.
