It’s official: The Umbrella Academy series is getting a new season – and the makers have just revealed important information.
Umbrella Academy: What We Know About Season 3 of the Netflix Series
The second season of Umbrella Academy was a brutal cliffhanger. After traveling back in time, finding their father, trying to prevent the Kennedy assassination, and stopping the Apocalypse (again because of Vanya), the Hargreeves brothers found a way to go back in time only to discover that her little trip completely changed her life.
We don’t know if they are in an alternate reality or if, as happened to Marty McFly in “Back to the Future,” their past actions caused their father to make opposite decisions in order not to deal with the dealing with troubled and damaged adults who visited him in the 1960s, but it is clear that things are going to be very insane for them. At the end of the second season, Vanya, Luther, Klaus, Five and Co. return to the Umbrella Academy, only to discover that it no longer exists and that it is replaced by the Sparrow Academy, a new academy with new heroes who own them don’t know, and a new version of Ben who doesn’t know them.
What will happen now? Who are these mysterious heroes watching you from the shadows? Is that ben The ending left us with a lot of questions and I hope they’ll be resolved in a new season.
Allegedly, the planning for the new season has already started (unofficially) and the showrunner of the series, Steve Blackman, revealed some interesting details in an interview with The Wrap in which he talked about the fate of the Hargreeves brothers, Ben and what else in the world third season of one of the most successful Netflix series could happen, spoke.
What’s next for the Hargreeves in the third season of Umbrella Academy?
According to Blackman, they will have to grow up a little, but the good news is that their powers will keep growing and they will learn more about their potential. “Everyone grows up. I like the thought that their powers develop over time. They learn new things. They were educated by a very dysfunctional parent until they were 14 or 15 years old, but then the family broke up before they could finish their education. They may even discover in the future that their powers are stronger when they are together, “said the showrunner.
That also confirms that the Hargreeves need to work together again, as they did at the end of season two (when they found out that Vanya is even more powerful than they thought).
The Sparrow Academy:
Netflix has just revealed the new characters and actors who will be part of the Sparrow Academy, the new Hargreeves that the original members will discover when they return to their times.
These are the new actors and their characters.

Netflix shared the first preview of the new season on its Instagram account, and while it doesn’t reveal much, we at least know that it’s written by Steve Blackman and Michelle Lovretta, from the Killjoys and Lost Girl series. On the other hand, the title of the chapter promises that we will be introduced to the family, and since we already know the original Hargreeves, it suggests that they will show us all members of the Sparrow Academy, and with it the truth about the new Ben, the we saw at the end of season two.
What will happen to ben?
Blackman hasn’t revealed if this new Ben is the same Ben, but he says he’ll be interacting more with his brothers. “The wonderful thing about Justin (Justin H. Min, the actor who plays Ben) is that he’s made of flesh and blood so he can interact with other characters besides Klaus. The funny thing about this relationship is that Ben is the most understanding brother, the most popular, but he has the worst translator ever in Klaus who is a terrible storyteller. But this Ben is flesh and blood and he exists. So this is new territory for Justin next season and I think he’s very excited. “
He doesn’t reveal much about the season, but Blackman hints that the Hargreeves will finally use their powers – they might even fight Reginald Hargreeves’ new kids, who definitely look a bit mean. And there are more such children that we haven’t seen yet.
“I think it is fair to say that we will definitely meet more of them in the future. It is stipulated within the program that there are others. There is purple, and if there is purple, there is more,” he said.
