Lionel Messi, Argentina’s World Cup-winning captain, ordered gold iPhones for every member of his squad and support team who took part in the historic win over France in the Qatar 2022 final.

Player names, numbers, and the Argentina logo will be emblazoned on the 24-carat device, valued at £175,000, according to an article in The Sun. Messi delivered it to his Paris apartment on Saturday.

“Lionel wanted to do something special and sparkly to celebrate his proudest moment. He contacted businessman Ben Lyons, and they came up with a design together,” the source said.

“Lionel is not only the GOAT (Greatest of All Time) but also one of iDesign Gold’s most loyal customers and contacted us a few months after the World Cup finals. He said he wanted special gifts for all the players and staff to celebrate the amazing win, but they didn’t want the usual watch gifts,” said Ben, CEO of iDesign Gold.

“So I suggested a gold iPhone with my name written on it, and he loved the idea,” she added.
