BTS Jimin “Set Me Free Pt.2” Breaks Spotify Records: Biggest Korean Day Debut 2023

BTS member Jimin is already breaking records before his official solo debut this Friday.

The 27-year-old multi-talent set a new solo artist record on Spotify with his single “Set Me Free Pt.2,” which debuted at #6 on the global Spotify chart with over 4.8 million filtered streams released last week. , AllKpop reported.

His long-awaited solo single had the biggest debut stream by a song by a South Korean artist on the first day of the year, surpassing “Vibe,” his collaboration with Big Bang’s Taeyang, which was released in early January.

“Set Me Free Pt.2” – the prelude to Jimin’s upcoming debut solo album Face – also became the fastest song in iTunes history, reaching a total of 110 #1 on Top Singles charts worldwide, such as in Japan, the United States, and the United Kingdom, a record release.

The South Korean boy band member revealed several surprises for fans ahead of the release of his solo album this weekend.

Earlier this month, Jimin released two of his solo songs, “Promise” and “Christmas Love,” to streaming services for the first time since their release in 2018 and 2020, respectively. They were only published on BTS’ accounts on Soundcloud or YouTube at the time.

The music video for “Set Me Free Pt.2”, uploaded via Hybe Labels’ official YouTube account on Friday, has been viewed more than 27 million times on the platform and is currently the #1 video in YouTube’s Trending Music category.

Recently, the hip-hop track topped Billboard Music’s Favorite New Music Release poll with 89% of the votes, beating Melanie Martinez’s “Death,” Hozier’s “Eat Your Young,” and Taylor Swift’s previously released “If This.” Was a Movie.” ,” “Safe and Sound,” and “Eyes Open” (Taylor version), as well as her “All of the Girls You Loved Before.”

BTS entertainment agency BigHit Music has released the official poster for Jimin’s upcoming single “Like Crazy,” which was co-written by fellow BTS member RM. The song is considered the title track for “Face” and will have English and Korean versions.
