Ex-adviser to Trump admired Putin’s remark to the West

Former advisor to ex-President of the United States Donald Trump on national security, retired Lieutenant General Michael Flynn, has expressed admiration for the values that Russian President Vladimir Putin supports and promotes in opposition to the ideology of the West. This message was posted on his Twitter.

Flynn said, “It is admirable that the President of Russia speaks of God and family as important values, while the West destroys them.”

Earlier, Twitter users evaluated Putin’s words about the moral decline of the West. In particular, the discussion unfolded under the post of the user @stillgray. “We (the West) are destroying ourselves from within, moving further away from traditional life and values. We must be closer to God, not further away,” wrote one of the users.

During his address to the Federal Assembly on February 21, Putin stated that adults have the right to live as they want, and no one intrudes into their private life. In addition, Putin called the family a union of a man and a woman and quoted the Holy Scripture. “It’s all there. That the family is a union of a man and a woman. But even these sacred texts are being questioned,” he said, reminding of the idea of the Anglican Church about a gender-neutral God.
