Telegram mocks the fall of WhatsApp with memes

Telegram has managed to acquire millions of users in the face of new changes in WhatsApp policies and now it has taken the opportunity to make fun with memes.

With the recent changes in the privacy policy of the WhatsApp messaging application , millions of users have left the platform and have thus caused the success of other messaging services such as the open source application Signal or the Russian application Telegram , which promise to take care of of the privacy of its members.

Telegram is a direct messaging application developed by Mark Zuckerberg’s Russian counterpart , Pável Dúrov, who also developed VK , the most used social network in the Trans-Siberian country.

The drop in users was such that WhatsApp had to delay its change of privacy agreements until May instead of its scheduled date of February 15, in addition to trying to convince users that they do not have access to private conversations.

Telegram saw the creation of more than 25 million new accounts in just 72 hours during the first week of January, and this is how Telegram now has more than 500 million active users and this number continues to grow.

Dúrov claimed that he had already noticed large waves in which users joined his application, but it is definitely the largest and assured that people are no longer willing to be taken hostage by monopolies and that people will no longer exchange their privacy for a free service.

Although Durov did not mention names, the official Telegram account on Twitter was more direct, placing an image of the update of terms in a popular meme.

On top of that, they made fun of Facebook’s clear monopoly , in this classic Spiderman meme .

If WhatsApp does not convince you of its new changes, here we present your other messaging options.
