Diddy Faces New Lawsuit: Sexual Assault and Revenge Porn Allegations

Sean “Diddy” Combs faced another lawsuit within a fortnight, with allegations of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman who also claims to be a victim of purported “revenge porn” orchestrated by the music artist.

The civil lawsuit, filed under the New York Adult Survivors Act, includes Combs and his associated companies, such as Bad Boy Entertainment. This legal action is part of a surge in cases targeting high-profile individuals before the deadline for filing under the state’s look-back law this week.

The lawsuit, lodged in the New York Supreme Court, seeks damages and a trial by jury. It asserts, “Plaintiff brings suit against Defendants to redress the substantial and lifetime injuries she has suffered as a result of being drugged, sexually assaulted and abused, and being the victim of ‘revenge porn’ that Sean Combs or ‘P. Diddy’ created and distributed.”

Combs’ spokesperson dismissed the allegations as “made up and not credible,” describing the legal move as a “purely a money grab.” The spokesperson criticized the last-minute nature of the lawsuit and claimed that the accusations misrepresented the reality. According to the spokesperson, the lawsuit exemplifies how a well-intentioned law can be misused. The statement continues, asserting that Mr. Combs never assaulted the plaintiff and that the suit implicates companies that did not exist.

As of now, a representative for Bad Boy Entertainment has not provided immediate comment.

Joi Dickerson-Neal, the purported victim, was a Syracuse University student during the 1991 incident and had previously appeared alongside Combs in a few video clips of a music video.

According to the lawsuit, Dickerson-Neal reluctantly agreed to dinner with Combs during a school break in January 1991. Combs allegedly pressured her to accompany him while attending “a few things in the city.” The suit claims that during the dinner, Combs intentionally drugged her, rendering her unable to stand or walk independently.

The lawsuit alleges that Dickerson-Neal left her drink unattended while using the restroom. Later, in the car, under pressure from Combs, she took a puff of a “blunt,” after which her memory became incomplete. The suit contends that Combs drove her to a music studio where she couldn’t leave the car and then proceeded to assault her at a place where he was staying sexually.

Due to the alleged drugging, the suit claims that Dickerson-Neal lacked the physical ability or mental capacity to defend herself. According to the lawsuit, Combs recorded the sexual assault, and a male friend later informed Dickerson-Neal that he had viewed the recording. Shocked, she inquired how many others had seen it, and the friend allegedly responded, “Everyone.”

Following the incident, Dickerson-Neal claims her life spiraled into severe depression and suicidal thoughts, leading to hospitalization. The lawsuit mentions that she filed police reports in New York and New Jersey, hoping to press charges, but was told her allegations needed corroboration.

The suit suggests that witnesses were hesitant to come forward due to fear of retaliation from Combs, who had achieved great success in launching the career of Notorious B.I.G. Witnesses reportedly feared losing future business and music opportunities if they supported Dickerson-Neal.

Despite emotional pain, Dickerson-Neal continued working in the music industry as a location scout for an industry cameraman. She eventually left the industry as Combs’ prominence grew. The lawsuit mentions that the filing of a lawsuit on November 16, 2023, concerning Combs’ alleged abuse of Cassie Ventura, forced Dickerson-Neal to confront the assault again.

Ventura, Combs’ former girlfriend, had accused him of sexual abuse, rape, and trafficking in a lawsuit that Combs claimed was resolved amicably one day after filing. Combs’ representative emphasized that the resolution was not an admission of wrongdoing and did not undermine his denial of the claims.
