Zelenskiy Visits Frontline Troops in Kharkiv Region

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy engaged with Ukrainian troops stationed on the front line in the Kupyansk area of the eastern Ukrainian region of Kharkiv on November 30, as the president’s office on Telegram reported. This visit followed his previous day’s meeting with troops in the southern region.

Zelenskiy, accompanied by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and senior adviser Andriy Yermak, met with General Oleksandr Syrskiy, the commander overseeing that sector of the front. Expressing gratitude, he honored and rewarded the soldiers for their efforts in safeguarding the peaceful lives of Ukrainians and the Kharkiv region.

During the meeting, the President received a comprehensive briefing on the situation along the Kupyansk-Lyman defense line, where Russian forces had been trying to reclaim territory lost to a Ukrainian blitz offensive the previous year.

On November 29, Zelenskiy had visited the southern region of Odesa, a consistent target for Russian strikes aimed at its critical port installations essential for food exports.

In a separate incident, Russian shelling in Darivka, southern Kherson region, resulted in the death of one civilian and injuries to five others, according to the regional military administration’s press service on November 30. The shelling caused damage to residential buildings, a kindergarten, and a hospital.

In the eastern Donetsk region, at least 10 civilians were wounded overnight due to Russian shelling, as reported by regional Governor Ihor Moroz on November 30. Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko added that Russian troops targeted the Pokrovsk, Novogrodivka, and Myrnograd districts, firing six S-300 missiles at Pokrovsk. This led to 10 people being wounded, including four children, with search and rescue efforts underway for five missing individuals under the rubble.

Furthermore, Russian forces shelled Ukraine’s northeastern Sumy region, as confirmed by the Prosecutor General’s Office on November 30, although specific details regarding casualties or damages were not provided.

In a distinct development, Ukraine’s air defense successfully intercepted 14 out of the 20 Iranian-made drones launched by Russia at Ukrainian territory early on November 30.
