U.S. Teen Fatally Shot by Israeli Forces in West Bank, Say Palestinian Officials

On Friday, Israeli troops in the West Bank shot and killed a 17-year-old Palestinian-American teenager during clashes, as reported by Palestinian officials to Reuters. The victim’s uncle confirmed the incident, and the U.S. State Department acknowledged the death of a U.S. citizen in the West Bank. The department spokesperson stated that they are working to understand the circumstances and have requested further information from the Israeli government.

According to the Palestinian National Authority’s official news agency, Wafa, the teenager was shot in the head. The shooting took place in a small Palestinian town east of Ramallah, as reported by Wafa. The Israeli Defense Forces did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment on the incident.
