Russian forces initiated another large-scale missile assault on cities throughout Ukraine, resulting in multiple explosions in Kyiv on Wednesday morning.
In the southern city of Mykolaiv, one person lost their life, and at least five individuals sustained injuries in the capital.
Kyiv Post journalists were awakened by an air raid alert shortly before 6 a.m.
Approximately an hour later, two significant explosions resounded in the city center, followed by at least two more explosions 45 minutes afterward.
South of the capital, in the city’s suburbs, a Kyiv Post reporter witnessed air defenses engaging numerous incoming missiles. An in-air explosion occurred as AFU defenses successfully neutralized one of the targets.

Subsequently, black smoke emerged from the intercept point, drifting over an open field near apartment buildings. Although no debris was directly observed, Kyiv authorities stated that air defenses were operational, and emergency services were dispatched to the Dnipro and Holosiivsky districts of the capital.
In the former district, two individuals were reported injured, while three were injured in the latter.
Earlier, Mayor Vitali Klitschko cautioned residents in a Telegram post: “Explosion in the city. Do not leave the shelters until the alarm goes off!”
Later, he added: “As a result of an enemy attack, two high-voltage lines were damaged by missile fragments in the capital. Some consumers on the left bank are currently without electricity.”
Explosions have also been documented in Kharkiv, and various missile groups are being monitored across the country.
