Zelenskyy urges global action against Putin before US November vote

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged for decisive action against Russia’s offensive before the U.S. presidential election in November. Speaking on the sidelines of the NATO summit, he stressed the need for increased support during a critical period in America’s political landscape.

“We cannot afford to wait until November or any other month. It’s time for strong, uncompromising decisions and actions from all of us,” Zelenskyy stated.

Addressing Washington four months ahead of the U.S. election, Zelenskyy directed his message particularly towards Republicans, whose leadership has shown skepticism towards NATO. This comes at a time when the opposition party appears to be gaining momentum in the presidential race.

Zelenskyy emphasized that the U.S. president must be “unwavering in defending democracy and standing against Putin and his associates.”

Throughout the conflict, Zelenskyy has demonstrated skill in navigating international relations to secure support for Ukraine. He has employed various tactics, from public appeals to occasional criticism, to obtain the necessary military assistance for his country’s defense against Russian aggression.
