Xiaomi has canceled a large-scale presentation on December 1 due to the death of former Chinese President Jiang Zemin. This was announced on the company’s official Weibo account.
“Dear users and friends. We regret to inform you that the launch of the new Xiaomi 13 series will be delayed. Once the new date has been confirmed, we will notify you as soon as possible. Thank you all for your understanding and support,” the company said in a statement.
At the presentation on December 1, they planned to show smartphones of the Xiaomi 13 flagship line, Buds 4 Pro headphones, Watch 2S watches, a computer and other company novelties.

From 1989 to 2002, Jiang Zemin served as Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and from 1993 to 2003 he was the Chairman of the PRC. During Zemin’s tenure, several major reforms took place, including partial privatization. The former Chinese leader died of leukemia and multiple organ failure in Shanghai at the age of 96.
