Resplendent Lincolnshire Wolds Outdoor Festival Returns to Celebrate Breathtaking Scenery
Following its successful debut last year, the Lincolnshire Wolds Outdoor Festival has made a triumphant return for a three-week celebration of the region’s “stunning scenery.” Running until June 11, the festival offers an array of 150 events and activities for participants to enjoy.
Designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1973, the Lincolnshire Wolds provide a picturesque backdrop for outdoor exploration. The festival, organized by the East Lindsey District Council, aims to encourage visitors to immerse themselves in nature and embark on exciting adventures.
Due to the overwhelming response received during its inaugural edition, the festival has been brought back this year. Additionally, the event serves as a commemoration of the 50th anniversary since the Lincolnshire Wolds received its Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty designation.
The council has planned a diverse range of activities, including clay pigeon shooting, hikes, guided tours, gliding, horse riding, dance classes, and river dipping. Most of these activities are either free or available at significantly reduced costs.
Karen Edwards, representing the council, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “We are delighted to see the return of the outdoor festival following the resounding success of last year. This provides residents and visitors alike with a wonderful opportunity to explore and appreciate the awe-inspiring Lincolnshire Wolds, which form such an integral part of our district and county.”
