Disturbing Discovery in Guadalajara: 45 Bags Found Containing Human Remains Matching Missing Call Center Staff
In a troubling development, the state prosecutor’s office in Jalisco has announced the discovery of forty-five bags containing human remains in a ravine located in a suburb of Guadalajara, Mexico. The preliminary investigation by the Jalisco State Prosecutor’s Office suggests that these body parts bear striking similarities to the physical characteristics of several call center staff members who were reported missing.
Between May 20 and 22, seven employees from a call center in the metropolitan area of Guadalajara vanished, prompting concerns and a subsequent investigation. Luis Joaquín Méndez Ruíz, a prosecutor from Jalisco, revealed that the human remains were found within bags discarded on a steep slope within a vacant lot.
At present, forensic experts are diligently working to determine the exact number of victims and establish their identities. Collaborating closely with the families of the missing individuals, the Jalisco Institute of Forensic Sciences aims to shed light on the identification process for recovered human remains.
Mexico has been grappling with a disconcerting wave of disappearances, with over 100,000 Mexicans and migrants currently unaccounted for. This distressing situation has drawn widespread attention and concern. In March, following the abduction of four Americans in Mexico, resulting in the tragic deaths of two of them, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador asserted that Mexico is, in fact, a safer country compared to the United States.
Unfortunately, incidents of kidnapping and human trafficking are not uncommon in various parts of Mexico, particularly along the border regions. The nation’s overall homicide rate also ranks among the highest in the world, further underscoring the complex challenges faced by law enforcement and security agencies.
