Nottinghamshire Police have arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of murder following a tragic incident in Nottingham city center.
Two individuals were discovered deceased on Ilkeston Road, while a separate incident on Milton Street resulted in three people being injured by a van. Additionally, a deceased man was found on Magdala Road.
Chief Constable Kate Meynell said: “This is a horrific and tragic incident that has claimed the lives of three people.
“We believe these three incidents are all linked and we have a man in custody.
“This investigation is at its early stages and a team of detectives is working to establish exactly what has happened.
“We ask the public to be patient while inquiries continue. At this time, a number of roads in the city will remain closed as this investigation progresses.”
An “ongoing serious incident” in the city has prompted the closure of multiple roads and the suspension of the local tram network.
National Inter-Agency Liaison Officers are coordinating the response from police, ambulance, and fire services.
Nottinghamshire Police announced the closure of six roads on Twitter and promised to provide additional updates soon.
“Officers are currently at an ongoing serious incident,” the police said.
The city’s tram network said it had suspended operations until further notice due to the incident.
