How to redeem the FF codes successfully

1st Step: Users must open Garenaโ€™s Rewards Redemption Site on any web browser.

2nd Step: Once gamers visit there, they have to sign in using one of the available platforms: Facebook, VK, Google, Apple ID, Huawei ID, and Twitter.

All guest accounts must be linked to be eligible for the redemption of ff codes. If players have a guest account, they can visit the in-game settings to bind it.

3rd Step: Individuals can now enter the redeem code into the text field. Hence, they must be careful while entering the FF codes, and not make any errors, as it will lead to a failed redemption.

4th Step: Finally, users can press the โ€˜Confirmโ€™ button to complete the process. Meanwhile, a pop-up will arrive on the screen mentioning the status, i.e., whether the operation was successful or not.

If the redemption is completed successfully, players can open the title on their device to claim the rewards through the in-game mail section. Usually, items get sent immediately, but it can take up to a day for them to be delivered.

Cyclone Freddy in Mozambique and Malawi: Over 300 Death

0

The aftermath of Tropical Cyclone Freddy has led to an increasing death toll of over 300, with authorities in Mozambique and Malawi taking several days to fully comprehend the extent of the damage and loss of life.

The cyclone made its second landfall in Southern Africa over the weekend, following its first occurrence in late February, making it one of the deadliest in Africa in recent years.

Mozambique’s Zambezia province has seen a surge in fatalities with at least 53 people losing their lives as per the authorities’ revised report on Wednesday, doubling the previous count.

Malawi has reported 225 deaths, and numerous people have been injured, with some still missing. The cyclone had already claimed the lives of 27 individuals in Madagascar and Mozambique before reemerging for a second time.

Despite the government’s pledge of $1.5m in assistance, search and rescue efforts have been hampered by continuous rainfall and power outages. The flooding has caused severe damage, sweeping away roads, farms, and houses, with numerous bodies and homes buried in mud.

Malawian President, Lazarus Chakwera, has declared a 14-day mourning period for the victims, and more than 20,000 households have been displaced due to the mudslides and flooding.

Speaking to CNN, Dorothy Wachepa, a mother of four, said she woke up to a deafening noise โ€œresembling the sound of an aeroplane.โ€

โ€œIt was around 12 and I heard the sound accompanied by shouting from people upland,โ€ she said.
What followed was a torrent of muddy water, accompanied by rocks and trees, sliding down the mountain. All her possessions were washed away.

โ€œEverything is gone. I was doing a small-scale business selling vegetables because my husband died in 2014. Iโ€™ve been supporting the children from the little that I have,โ€ she added, reported CNN.

Earlier, on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences over the loss of lives in Malawi, Mozambique and Madagascar from Cyclone Freddy.

He said India stands with the people of the affected countries in tough times.

On Tuesday, the Malawi Ministry of Natural Resources and Climate Change said the cyclone was โ€œweakening but will continue to cause torrential rains associated with windy conditions in most parts of Southern Malawi districtsโ€.

โ€œThe threat of heavy flooding and damaging winds remains very high,โ€ the weather report said.
In Mozambique, at least 10 people were killed and 13 injured in the Zambezia province, CNN reported, citing state broadcaster Radio Mozambique.

Cyclone Freddy has broken records for the longest-lasting storm of its kind after making landfall in Mozambique for a second time, more than two weeks after the first.

Why Young People in France are Protesting Retirement Reforms

0

French President Emmanuel Macron’s proposal to raise the minimum retirement age from 62 to 64 has sparked mass protests across the country. Young people, who have taken a leading role in the demonstrations, see the reform as unjust and emblematic of a broader erosion of social rights.

In Paris, FRANCE 24 spoke to young protesters about their concerns. Despite a lower turnout compared to previous rallies, the third day of nationwide protests saw hundreds of thousands of people take to the streets, disrupting public transport and schools.

Many young people, including teenagers, participated in the rallies in towns and cities across France. Although retirement may seem like a distant issue for young workers and students, their opposition to the reform is rooted in concerns about climate change, youth unemployment, societal reform, and the perceived erosion of France’s welfare model.

Yannaรซl, 24, studies medieval history at the Sorbonne University in Paris

This reform is unfair because it categorises physically arduous jobs the same as any other. I can understand the need to balance budgets when the population is getting older. But any reform must take into account the fact that some jobs are physically more demanding than others.

โ€˜I canโ€™t take any moreโ€™: Working-class French lament Macronโ€™s push to raise retirement age

We should be able to live longer and in better health without working ourselves to death. Besides, if theyโ€™re talking about retiring at 64 now, what will it be when Iโ€™m 60? Will I have to work until Iโ€™m 70 or 75?

This is the first time I am protesting, because the government is pushing us too far. They refuse to listen to the people. (โ€ฆ) My aim is to become a teacher, but Iโ€™m worried Iโ€™ll be paid a pittance to do a difficult job with classes that are becoming ever-larger. Thatโ€™s what Iโ€™m scared of and thatโ€™s why Iโ€™m out here protesting: to better our society and our future.

โ€˜Will we work all our lives instead of working for a living?โ€™

Amรฉlie, 21, studies sociology at the university of Paris Citรฉย

People say the young are lazy and donโ€™t want to work โ€“ but itโ€™s not true. My generation has been hit hard by Covid and the situation hasnโ€™t improved. Most of my fellow students have to work to pay for their studies. And we have no guarantee weโ€™ll find jobs with decent salaries after we graduate.

I think the governmentโ€™s reform presents us with a false dilemma. There are other ways of financing our pension system, like taxing the ultra-rich, restoring the wealth tax that Macronโ€™s government scrapped, and giving proper contracts to delivery workers who currently have no job protection and do not pay into the system. We could also hike wages and thereby increase pension contributions.

The vast majority of the French are opposed to this reform. It should be cancelled, full stop.

SpaceX, Netflix and Boeing Join ‘Biggest’ US Business Mission to Vietnam

0

HANOI, March 17 (Reuters) – SpaceX, Netflix, and Boeing are among the companies joining the “biggest” US business mission to Vietnam next week to discuss investment and sales opportunities in the fast-growing Southeast Asian country, organizers said.

More than 50 companies, including defense, pharmaceutical, and technology companies, will participate in the mission organized by the US-ASEAN Business Council, an industry body, according to a list provided by Reuters.

The delegation is a sign of increasing interest in the global manufacturing hub, benefiting from a move away from China amid trade tensions between China and the United States.
With a population of 100 million, Vietnam also has a thriving consumer market with a growing middle class.

โ€œThis is the biggest mission in Vietnam,” said Vu Tu Tan, US-ASEAN Business Council representative, noting that the organization has hosted this event for three decades.

Streaming giant Netflix, which Reuters reported last month was planning to open an office in Vietnam, is one of the companies joining the journey. Netflix did not respond to requests for comment.

Aerospace manufacturers Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Bell will hold meetings with Vietnam’s state-owned defense equipment company, Tan told Reuters, adding it was the first time since about a decade ago that the security company decided to join the annual mission to Vietnam.

In December, the same company held talks with Vietnamese government officials about a possible sale of helicopters and drones as the country seeks new suppliers and the conflict in Ukraine strains the capabilities of Russia, Vietnam’s leading military partner for decades.

โ€œHelicopters are one of the things the company wants to sell to Vietnam,” said Tan, though he warned that defense deals would take time to finalize and no immediate breakthroughs were expected.

Boeing said in a statement that its talks with officials would focus on developing partnerships with Vietnam and ways to strengthen the country’s aviation and defense capabilities.

Lockheed Martin and Bell did not respond to requests for comment.

The majority of companies joining the business mission already have businesses or manufacturers in Vietnam, including Apple (AAPL.O), Coca-Cola (KO.N), and PepsiCo (PEP.O), Tan said, and some plan to expand.

Some companies are also gaining a better understanding of the political situation following recent unrest in the Communist Party-led country, including the president’s resignation in January, Tan added.

Participants will meet with Vietnam’s political and regulatory leaders, including Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

According to Tan, while economic growth reached more than 8 percent last year, some companies are attracted to Vietnam as a hub for manufacturing and providing services to increasingly affluent consumers.

Among them is SpaceX, which plans to sell its satellite internet services to Vietnam and other countries in the region, Tan said. SpaceX did not respond to requests for comment.

Walmart invests $200 million in Indian mobile payment giant PhonePe

0

PhonePe has raised an additional $200 million in an ongoing round, which has helped it raise $650 million in recent weeks despite a market slump as the Indian fintech giant reinvested after its recent spinoff from parent company Flipkart Cash is under construction.

Walmart, which owns most of PhonePe, has invested $200 million in the startup. The current round values โ€‹โ€‹PhonePe, headquartered in Bengaluru, at a pre-money valuation of $12 billion. PhonePe previously said it plans to raise up to $1 billion in its current funding round.

“We are excited about the future of PhonePe and confident that the company will continue to expand its offerings and bring access to financial services to India at scale. India is one of the world’s most digital, dynamic, and fastest growing economies, and we welcome the opportunity to continue to support PhonePe,” said Judith McKenna, President and CEO of Walmart International, in a statement.

With a valuation of US$12 billion, PhonePe is the most valuable fintech startup in India. It competes with Google Pay and Paytm. Paytm, expecting sales of $1 billion in March this year is currently valued at less than $5 billion.

PhonePe is undoubtedly the clear leader in the mobile UPI payments market, the network built by a coalition of retail banks in India. UPI has become the most popular online transaction method for Indians, processing more than 8 billion monthly transactions.

Seven-year-old PhonePe handles about 50% of all these transactions. PhonePe announced last week that it was on track to process $1 trillion worth of transactions every year. Walmart, which also owns a majority stake in e-commerce giant Flipkart, said last month that the separation of Flipkart and PhonePe was “a lot like eBay and PayPal, where everyone can operate independently, pursuing their initiative.”

The problem with PhonePe’s growth is that Indian regulators are imposing market cap checks on every participating player. Still, the recent extension of the deadline to 2025 has paved the way for the startup for another two years of rapid growth. (Google’s GPay and PhonePe currently process over 80% of all UPI transactions.)
PhonePe is also slowly emerging as a sales machine, leveraging its massive 300 million user base to sell products such as insurance. The startup also plans to use the funds to build and scale its wealth management, lending, stockbroking, ONDC-based purchasing, and account aggregator businesses.

Industry experts believe that PhonePe’s ultimate goal is to become a bank, which justifies its high rating. PhoneP reported revenue of $234.3 million in the first nine months of 2022.

The company expects revenue of $325 million in the calendar year 2022 and $504 million in 2023, according to an appraisal report prepared by auditing firm KPMG and filed by PhonePe in January.

Startups do not expect to turn EBIDTA, a key measure of profitability, positive in the 2025 calendar year, wrote KMPG in its assessment report. PhonePe’s finances and metrics from the appraisal report are not reported beforehand.

“We would like to thank Walmart, our majority investor, for supporting our long-term endeavors. We look forward to the next phase of our growth as we build new offerings for Indian consumers and merchants and enable financial inclusion across the country,” said Sameer Nigam, co-founder, and CEO of PhonePe, in a statement.

Pakistan’s IMF Deal: Delays and Demands Explained

0

Pakistan’s ongoing negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) regarding a $6.5 billion bailout program have faced significant delays. The IMF has reportedly requested that “friendly” countries fulfill their funding commitments before approving the deal, causing complications in the talks.

Pakistan’s Finance Minister, Ishaq Dar, revealed that some countries have pledged support during the IMF’s review but have yet to fulfill their commitments. Pakistan has already completed all demands made by the IMF, including increasing taxes, energy prices, and interest rates, but the lender has requested further assurances.

Despite the delays, Pakistan’s government remains committed to securing the IMF bailout and has taken significant steps to comply with the lender’s conditions. Recent support from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and China has helped to ease Pakistan’s economic crisis, with China providing a $1.3 billion loan.

Political uncertainty in Pakistan has also contributed to the crisis, with the government led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif facing criticism for the economic downturn. However, Sharif has stated that his government has agreed to all of the IMF’s strict conditions, and the lender has not indicated that political instability is a factor in the delay of the bailout’s revival.

In conclusion, the delays in Pakistan’s IMF deal highlight the challenges faced by countries in securing financial assistance during times of economic crisis. Pakistan’s efforts to comply with the IMF’s conditions and secure funding from “friendly” countries demonstrate the importance of building strong international relationships. As negotiations continue, Pakistan remains hopeful that it will be able to overcome the challenges and secure the IMF bailout it needs to stabilize its economy.

Hong Kong: Two men arrested for possession of ‘rebel’ children’s book

0

Two men have been arrested in Hong Kong for possessing a picture book that authorities have described as “sedition.”

They are believed to be the first to be arrested solely for possessing the books after the publisher was jailed last year.

Authorities interpreted the book – about sheep trying to chase away wolves from their village – as a reference to Hong Kong and the Chinese government.

Critics say the arrests further exacerbate Hong Kong’s rights.

Human Rights Watch described the arrests as “shameful” and said the region used colonial-era sedition laws to crack down on dissidents.

Hong Kong media reported that police arrested the men, aged 38 and 50, from their home on March 13. They ransacked their homes in Kowloon and Hong Kong Island and confiscated multiple copies of the book that was part of a series titled Yangcun.

Both have been released on bail but are expected to report to the police next month, authorities said.

The officials also confirmed that the books were the same ones that were the subject of a high-level trial last year – in which a court had to determine whether Yangcun’s books advocated rebellion against the state.

The court ruled that the picture books had “seditious intent” and sentenced five speech therapists to 19 months in prison for publishing the books.

The group, aged between 25 and 28, have produced an e-book featuring cartoons that some have interpreted as an attempt to explain Hong Kong’s pro-democracy movement to children.

In one of the three books, a village of sheep fights against a pack of wolves trying to take over their town.

Hong Kong is a particular administrative region of China. According to the “one country, two systems” principle, residents should enjoy certain freedoms that do not exist on the continent.

But those rights have been undermined since Beijing imposed a national security law in 2020 in response to months of protests in Hong Kong against Beijing’s control in 2019.

Beijing says the law is necessary to ensure the city’s stability, but critics say it is designed to quell dissent and undermine Hong Kong’s autonomy.

In January, police arrested a 24-year-old student on sedition charges after he posted a link to download the Yangcun series on Facebook – accompanied by allegedly inflammatory remarks, local newspaper Mingpao reported.

Microsoft is adding AI tools to Office applications like Outlook and Word

0

Microsoft implements artificial intelligence tools in its office software suite, including email in Word, Excel, and Outlook.

NEW YORK – Microsoft is implementing artificial intelligence tools in its office software suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook email.

The company said Thursday that the new feature, Copilot, is a processing engine that lets users summarize long emails, design stories in Word, and animate PowerPoint slides.

Colette Stollbaumer, general manager of Microsoft 365, said the new feature is currently only available to 20 enterprise customers. Roll out to more enterprise customers in the coming months.

Microsoft markets the feature as a tool employees can use to be more productive by saving time they would normally spend in their inbox or allowing them to analyze trends in Excel.

The Redmond, Washington-based tech giant will also add a chat feature called Business Chat, similar to the popular ChatGPT. It accepts commands and performs actions using user data, such as emailing colleagues about a particular project.

“Today marks the next major step in the evolution of how we interact with computers, which will fundamentally change the way we work and spark a new wave of productivity growth,” said Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella in a statement.

Mattel, Instacart, and other companies are also integrating generative AI tools like ChatGPT and image generator Dall-E to generate new toy car ideas and answer customer questions about food.

Microsoft rival Google announced this week that it is integrating generative AI tools into its own workspace apps, such as Google Docs, Gmail, and Slides. Google says it will release features to “trusted testers” throughout the year.

Microsoft’s announcement comes two days after OpenAI, which supports the generative AI technologies that Microsoft relies on, released its newest AI model, GPT-4.

New Zealand joined the US push to limit the use of TikTok on official phones with a parliamentary ban

0

New Zealand will ban TikTok on all devices with access to its parliament by the end of this month, becoming the latest country to impose an official ban on the popular social media platform, which is owned by a Beijing-based tech conglomerate.

Led by the United States, an increasing number of Western countries are imposing restrictions on using TikTok on government devices, citing national security concerns.

Rafael Gonzalez-Montero, chief executive of New Zealand’s Parliamentary Service, said in a statement on Friday that the risk of keeping the video-sharing app “unacceptable.”
“This decision was made based on our experts’ analysis and after discussions with our government and international counterparts,” he wrote.

“Following the advice of our cybersecurity experts, the Parliamentary Service has informed members and staff that the TikTok app will be removed from all devices accessing the parliamentary network,” it added.

But those who need the application to “fulfill their democratic duties” could get exemptions, he said.
In an email to lawmakers seen by CNN, Gonzalez-Montero told lawmakers the app would be removed from their company devices on March 31, after which they would no longer be able to download it.

He also directed lawmakers to uninstall the app from their devices, adding that failure to comply could result in them being unable to access parliament’s network.

“I – and IPAC as a whole – have had serious privacy concerns for some time,” he said, adding that TikTok’s response to previous data security requests was “unsatisfactory.”

IPAC is a cross-border group formed by lawmakers from democracies focusing on relations with China and frequently criticizing Beijing’s leadership.

New Zealand’s decision comes amid similar actions taken by its western allies, despite the country’s more cautious approach in dealing with Beijing, partly because it is a major trading partner.

The United States, United Kingdom, and Canada ordered the app removed from all government phones, citing cybersecurity concerns.

The three countries are part of the so-called Five Eyes Alliance, which works together to collect and share information. Australia and New Zealand form five.

The Chinese video-sharing app has also been banned in all three main European Union government agencies.

TikTok has become one of the world’s most successful social media platforms and is very popular among young people.

This short video-sharing app has over 100 million users in the US alone.

New Zealand’s latest move comes just hours after TikTok acknowledged that the Biden government had threatened to ban its activities nationwide unless its Chinese owners agreed to relinquish their stake in the social media platform.
US officials have raised concerns that the Chinese government could use its national security laws to pressure TikTok or its parent company ByteDance to provide private information to American TikTok users, which could benefit Chinese intelligence operations or influence campaigns.

China accused the United States of “unreasonably suppressing” TikTok and “spreading false information” about data security.

FBI Director Christopher Wray told the US Senate Intelligence Committee earlier this month that he is concerned the Chinese government could use TikTok to sway public opinion if China invades Taiwan, the self-governing island that Beijing claims sovereignty, though has never ruled Taiwan.

TikTok has repeatedly denied posing a security risk and has agreed to work with regulators to address any concerns.
