Burna Boy’s ‘I Told Them…’ Set for UK’s First Number 1 Album

Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Burna Boy is poised to claim his first UK Number 1 album this week with the release of his latest record, ‘I Told Them…’, which hit the airwaves last Friday.

‘I Told Them…’ marks the seventh studio album for the Grammy Award-winning artist and is currently leading the pack to claim the top spot on the Official Albums Chart in the UK.

Official Charts, the authoritative organization responsible for compiling record charts in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and France, has reported that the album is being preceded by the single ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World’, currently positioned at number 36 on the chart.

Furthermore, Burna Boy’s collaboration with English rapper Dave, titled ‘Cheat On Me’, is anticipated to make its debut within the Top 20 of the Official Singles Chart this Friday.

The singer behind hits like ‘It’s Plenty’ already boasts three prior entries into the UK Top 20 albums. These include ‘African Giant’ in 2019, which reached number 16, ‘Twice As Tall’ in 2020, and last year’s ‘Love, Damini’, which marked a significant milestone by reaching number 2, his first entry into the Top 10.

Notably, the 32-year-old Nigerian star recently earned the prestigious title of being ranked as the world’s top Afrobeats artist of all time by the global music streaming giant Spotify.
