Kim Jong Un Supervises N Korean Nuclear Weapons, Undersea Drone Testing

0

According to the Korean Central News Agency’s report on Friday, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un supervised the testing of weapons explicitly developed to carry out nuclear attacks against the US and its allies. The tests, which took place between Tuesday and Thursday, involved the trial of a new underwater drone capable of producing a “radioactive tsunami,” as per the regime’s claim.

The drone traveled along the country’s eastern coast for almost 60 hours before exploding. Additionally, the tests involved cruise missiles that were mounted with simulated nuclear warheads.

“The mission of the underwater nuclear strategic weapon is to stealthily infiltrate into operational waters and make a super-scale radioactive tsunami through underwater explosion to destroy naval striker groups and major operational ports of the enemy,” KCNA said.

North Korea’s state media has announced the deployment of a new drone, but the country’s existing mini submarines rely on outdated technology and are easily spotted in open waters.

The country continues to improve its nuclear strike capabilities, including developing quick-deploy solid-fuel ballistic missiles and new warhead delivery devices.

North Korea has warned the US of an unprecedented response to joint military exercises with South Korea, and the latest tests coincide with the end of a large US-South Korean drill. Further provocations could result from planned live-fire exercises in June.

According to KCNA, Kim Jong Un criticized the US for endangering regional stability with military actions under the guise of protecting allies, while the US and its allies contend that such drills are necessary to counter the threat posed by North Korea’s advancing nuclear arsenal.

These drills had been reduced or discontinued under former President Donald Trump to facilitate nuclear negotiations, which ultimately yielded no progress in dismantling North Korea’s weapons program.

Kim stressed the importance of maintaining a strong nuclear defense capability to protect against perceived threats from the US and South Korea, and emphasized the need for continuous development of the country’s nuclear weapons program, as per KCNA.

McLaren dismisses Technical Director James Key after a poor start to 2023 F1 Season

0

McLaren, one of the most iconic teams in Formula One, has decided to let go of their technical director, James Key, due to a disappointing start to the 2023 season. With neither of their drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, able to secure a single point, the team has been struggling with reliability issues and a significant lack of speed on straightaways.

Newly appointed team principal, Andrea Stella, and CEO Zak Brown have been evaluating McLaren’s pitwall operations since the start of the season. As part of a larger restructuring effort, the decision has been made to replace the role of technical director with three specialised positions. Peter Prodromou will now serve as the Technical Director for Aerodynamics, while Neil Houldey will take on the role of Technical Director for Engineering and Design.

With these changes, McLaren hopes to turn things around and get back on track for the rest of the season. The team has a rich history in the sport and is known for its dedication to excellence, so it’s no surprise that they’re taking this step to make the necessary improvements. Time will tell if this new strategy pays off, but one thing is for sure: McLaren is not a team that gives up easily.

David Sanchez, who has spent a decade at Ferrari, will join as Technical Director, Car Concept and Performance, at the start of 2024.

All three will report directly to Italian chief Stella.

โ€œIโ€™d like to thank James for his hard work and commitment during his time at McLaren and wish him well for the future,โ€ Stella said, in a McLaren press release.

โ€œLooking ahead, I am determined and fully focused on leading McLaren back to the front of the field. Since taking on the Team Principal role I have been given the mandate to take a strategic approach to ensure the team is set on a long-term foundation, for us to build on over the years.

โ€œThis new structure provides clarity and effectiveness within the teamโ€™s technical department and puts us in a strong position to maximise performance, including optimising the new infrastructure upgrades we have coming in 2023.โ€

McLaren finished third in 2020, fourth in 2021 and fifth in 2022 but are currently one of two teams yet to score a point in 2023.

Lando Norris has a contract with McLaren that runs until the end of the 2025 season, but there has been speculation about his future with the team due to their recent struggles. Meanwhile, Oscar Piastri joined the team this year and is competing in his first season in Formula 1.

According to Zak Brown, the team’s CEO, it is crucial to establish a strong foundation for the next phase of McLaren’s journey. He has acknowledged that their technical development has not been keeping up with their goal of returning to the front of the grid, and this has been apparent to him for some time.

โ€œIโ€™m pleased that, having completed a full review with Andrea, we are now able to implement the restructure required to set the wheels in motion to turn this around,โ€ added Brown. โ€œThese strategic changes ensure the long-term success of the team and are necessary to see McLaren get back to winning ways.

โ€œWe have everything coming into place now with our people and infrastructure and alongside an exciting driver line-up, Iโ€™m determined to see McLaren get back to where we should be.โ€

Ronaldo sets new record in Portugal’s win over Liechtenstein

In an exciting match, Cristiano Ronaldo broke the record for the highest number of international appearances, surpassing the previous record held by Bader Al-Mutawa. The Portuguese forward scored two goals in the 4-0 win over Liechtenstein, taking his international tally to an impressive 120 goals. Portugal also had contributions from Joao Cancelo and Bernardo Silva, who scored a goal each in their European Championship qualifying Group J match.

Meanwhile, England began their qualifying campaign with a 2-1 win over reigning champions Italy. Harry Kane became England’s all-time leading scorer with his 54th goal for his country, surpassing Wayne Rooney’s record. Declan Rice opened the scoring before Kane scored from the penalty spot.

Although Italy’s Mateo Retegui scored on his debut, England held on to win despite finishing the game with 10 men after Luke Shaw was sent off for two yellow cards. In the same group, North Macedonia defeated Malta 2-1.

In Northern Ireland’s Group, Dion Charles scored twice to give Northern Ireland a 2-0 win over San Marino in Michael O’Neill’s second stint in charge. Kazakhstan lost 2-1 at home to Slovenia, while Denmark beat Finland 3-1 in the same group.

Overall, it was a night for record-breaking performances as football fans witnessed history being made on the international stage.

World Athletics Bans Trans Women from Competition

0

Sebastian Coe, the president of World Athletics, has confirmed that the organization has banned trans women from competing in international competitions.

The decision was made after consulting with member federations in January and is intended to exclude male-to-female transgender athletes and those with differences in sex development (DSD) who have undergone male puberty from female competition.

The goal is to protect the integrity of the female category, ensure fairness in competitions, and remain inclusive while following scientific principles. The decision will come into effect on March 31, and Lord Coe acknowledged that it was a difficult one to make.

The new regulations will exclude male-to-female transgender athletes who have undergone male puberty from female world ranking competitions, and World Athletics cannot in good conscience maintain the previous regulations of allowing athletes with a testosterone level of 5nmol/mol to compete for another year without knowing their impact on all disciplines.

Sebastian Coe, president of World Athletics, explained that leaving the transgender regulations at a testosterone level of 5nmol/mol for another year was not conscionable, as they were unsure about the impact on all disciplines.

The decision to ban male-to-female transgender athletes and those with DSD who have undergone male puberty from female competition is a principled one, aimed at protecting the integrity of the female category in athletics.

The council is committed to maintaining fairness for female athletes and will consider the scientific evidence around physical performance and male advantage as it emerges.

Under the new regulations, DSD athletes must reduce their testosterone levels to below 2.5 nmol/L for at least 24 months to compete internationally in the female category. The integrity of the female category remains a top priority for World Athletics.

Previously, specific testosterone levels were only required for restricted events from 400m to one mile. However, this has now been removed entirely, and athletes who compete in unrestricted events – distances below 400m and above one mile, as well as field events – must suppress their testosterone levels below 2.5nmol/L for a minimum of six months before they can compete again.

This period matches the previous requirement for DSD athletes to compete in restricted events, although the threshold was higher at 5nmol/L. The interim provisions do not apply to previously restricted events, where two years of testosterone suppression will be required before the athlete is eligible to compete.

The issue of transgender rights has sparked a debate on balancing inclusivity with fairness in sports. Athletes like Eilish McColgan, the Commonwealth Games 10,000m champion, have expressed concerns about a one percent advantage being too much for trans women athletes.

However, LGBTQI advocacy groups argue that excluding trans athletes from international competition is discriminatory.

World Athletics’ decision to ban male-to-female transgender athletes and those with DSD who have undergone male puberty from female competition follows a similar move by World Aquatics last year.

While Lord Coe praised the creation of an “open” category for transgender athletes, advocacy groups are concerned about the exclusion of trans women from women’s competition.

In addition to this decision, the World Athletics Council has made several other landmark decisions on future participation, including the reinstatement of the Russian Federation (RusAF) after seven years of suspension for institutional doping violations.

However, athletes, officials, and supporting personnel from Russia and Belarus remain excluded from competition due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Get to know the Porn Star who could send Trump to Jail

0

In an unprecedented event in American history, a former president is facing the possibility of being indicted and charged with criminal offenses. Donald Trump, the former president, has been involved in several legal cases, but it is the matter of hush money payments made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels that could potentially lead to his downfall.

The issue centers around a payment of $130,000 that Daniels claims she received during Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign in exchange for her silence about an alleged affair they had in 2006. Reportedly, the affair occurred shortly after Trump’s wife Melania gave birth to their son, Barron.

Trump’s former lawyer and “fixer,” Michael Cohen, admitted to making the payment on Trump’s orders and was subsequently imprisoned on federal charges related to the matter. However, Trump managed to avoid any repercussions at the time, but it seems that he may finally face the consequences of his actions this week.

Who is Stormy Daniels?

Stephanie Clifford, known professionally as Stormy Daniels, was a well-established adult entertainment actress and director when she allegedly had an affair with Donald Trump.

With several awards to her name, Stormy graduated from Scotlandville Magnet High School with aspirations to become a journalist. However, her career took a different path when she visited a friend at a strip club at the age of 17 and began performing herself in Baton Rouge.

Soon after, she changed her name to Stormy Daniels, inspired by the American rock band Mรถtley Crรผe and the band’s bassist, Nikki Sixx, who named his daughter Storm. Stormy went on to have a successful career as an adult film actress and director, as well as making appearances in mainstream TV shows and movies.

She was featured in the Steve Carell-starring film, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, and appeared as a pole dancer in the Maroon 5 music video, Wake Up Call. In 2010, Stormy briefly ventured into politics and sought a Republican Senate nomination in Louisiana against David Vitter but withdrew from the race due to financial constraints and criticized the media for not taking her candidacy seriously.

What Stormy says about her liaison with Trump

During an interview with 60 Minutes in 2018, Stormy Daniels discussed her alleged relationship with Donald Trump in great detail. She claims to have met Trump in July 2006 at a celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, where they talked about the television industry since Trump was appearing on The Apprentice at the time.

Trump invited her to dinner, where he suggested she could appear on Celebrity Apprentice, but Stormy was hesitant due to her career as a porn actress. “He talked about himself and bragged about his magazine covers,” Stormy recounted to Anderson Cooper during the interview. They engaged in intimate activity and had unprotected sex later that evening, according to Stormy.

Trump referred to her as “honeybunch,” she claims. They remained in contact afterward, with Trump inviting her to a Trump Vodka launch party in California and to his office in Trump Tower in New York. Stormy maintains that she was never instructed to keep their affair a secret.

In her book, Full Disclosure, Stormy states that Trump invited her to his private bungalow at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles to discuss her potential appearance on Celebrity Apprentice. They did not engage in sexual activity again, and the next day, Trump informed her that he was unable to secure her a spot on the show.

Selling the story

Stormy attempted to sell her account of the affair with Trump to In Touch magazine, but two employees of the publication claimed that Michael Cohen threatened to sue them if they published the interview.

As a result, it was never released. Stormy also alleged that she was accosted by a man in a Las Vegas parking lot who warned her to “Leave Trump alone. Forget the story.” However, when Trump entered the political arena, former Playboy model Karen McDougal sold her story of an alleged affair with Trump to the National Enquirer.

A Federal Election Commission (FEC) document indicates that the parent company of the National Enquirer, American Media Inc (AMI), purchased the rights to McDougal’s life story. It then made a deal with Trump’s campaign officials to buy the story to bury it.

The Case

During his campaign, 19 women accused Trump of making sexual advances towards them. His legal team allegedly sought to pay off all such women. In 2018, reports surfaced that Michael Cohen secretly paid $130,000 to Daniels to keep her silent. On January 12, 2018, the Wall Street Journal published the first reports of the affair.

Cohen initially denied the affair, but later in February admitted to paying Daniels from his own pocket. Daniels stated in March that she would sue Trump, alleging that Cohen had coerced her into signing a statement denying the affair. In April, Trump denied making any such payment.

On December 12, Cohen was sentenced to three years in federal prison. Recently, Trump claimed on his Truth Social account that the Manhattan DA’s office would arrest him within days, calling the investigation “corrupt and highly political” and an “old and fully debunked fairy-tale”.

Taiwan recalls ambassador to Honduras over visit by Foreign Minister to China

0

Taiwan has recalled its ambassador to Honduras after Honduran Foreign Minister Eduardo Enrique Reina visited China to hold discussions on establishing diplomatic relations with the Chinese government.

In a statement, Taiwan’s foreign ministry expressed disappointment that Honduras had ignored their 80-year friendship and sent their foreign minister to China, which had hurt Taiwan’s government and its people.

The statement added that Taiwan had decided to immediately recall its ambassador to Honduras to express their strong dissatisfaction. Although the Honduran delegation is scheduled to meet with Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang, Beijing has yet to confirm the visit.

According to China’s “One China” principle, Taiwan is part of its territory to be retaken one day, even by force if necessary. Maintaining official diplomatic relations with both China and Taiwan is prohibited, as per this principle. Taiwan has a similar policy and has severed ties with countries that recognized Beijing.

Last week, Honduran President Castro directed Foreign Minister Reina to establish diplomatic relations with China, a move criticized by Taiwan. Reina cited economic necessity and Taiwan’s refusal to increase financial aid to Honduras as the reasons behind the decision to establish ties with Beijing.

If Honduras does switch recognition, Taiwan would be left with only 13 countries with which it maintains formal diplomatic ties.

SEC threatens to sue Coinbase over crypto products, shares drop

0

Coinbase Global Inc has been issued a Wells notice by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for certain products offered by the crypto exchange, thereby increasing pressure on the largely unregulated sector.

Following this announcement on Wednesday, Coinbase’s shares dropped by almost 13% to $67.33 in extended trading. The SEC’s potential enforcement actions are related to aspects of Coinbase’s spot market, as well as its Wallet, Prime, and Earn products.

The Earn product and other staking services have come under increased scrutiny for not being registered, especially after the FTX implosion last year. Staking involves cryptocurrency holders volunteering to validate transactions on the blockchain and often offers high yields to customers. The SEC has been ramping up efforts to regulate the crypto industry.

Kraken paid $30 million in penalties and ceased its US cryptocurrency staking service last month to settle SEC charges related to program registration. Meanwhile, Justin Sun, a Chinese crypto entrepreneur, and eight celebrities, including Lindsay Lohan, were charged with fraud and illegally promoting his crypto assets earlier in the day.

Despite the Wells notice, Coinbase confirmed its services were running normally, and it does not necessarily imply a violation of the law or charges will be filed.

How to record the screen of an Apple iPhone in 2023

0

Recording your Apple iPhone 14 mobile screen in a video with sound can be very useful for making tutorials or showing friends how to do a certain task on Apple iPhone 14, saving it in a video file and then sending it or uploading it to platforms like YouTube or social networks.

Sometimes we want to record videos with sound from stories we see on Instagram, friends, phone calls, or video calls (FaceTime) with family members to keep as a souvenir or use as evidence or TikTok videos.

To make this recording on your Apple iPhone 14, follow these steps:

Estimated time: 2 minutes.

1-ย First step:

First of all, we have to make sure that screen recording is enabled on our iPhone 14. If it is activated, we can proceed to step 5. To check it, we can enter the “Settings” application which is represented by the gear icon that appears on the home screen of our Apple iPhone

2-ย Second step:

We scrolled down through the menu on the left until we found the โ€œControl Centerโ€ section, clicked on it, then “Customize controls.”

3-ย Third step:

If we have enabled the screen recording control, it will appear in the first list we see on our iPhone 14 in the “ON” section. We can change the order in which they appear by clicking on the three horizontal lines to the right of the control and swiping up or down. We can also remove controls by clicking the red button on the left.

4-ย Fourth step:

If you don’t see any of these enabled controls, let’s go down, and under OTHER CONTROLS, it should appear. Click the green + Add to panel icon button to add it. Once this step is done, we can leave the Apple iPhone 14 settings.

5-ย Fifth step:

(iPhone 7 and lower and iPad with iOS 11 or earlier) Swipe from the bottom up from the screen where you want to start the video. (iPhone X, iPad with iOS 12 or iPad) From the screen where you want to start the video, swipe from the upper right corner down.

6-ย Sixth step:

If you want to record a video on your Apple iPhone 14 without using the microphone, press the record icon. In that case, a 3-second countdown will start, and the recording will start; you will see a red line at the top of the screen and the word “Recording,” indicating that everything that happened on screen is being recorded.
If, in addition to the sound of the iPhone 14 itself, you want to record a video using the microphone (this is useful, for example, for explaining the operation of an application to acquaintances or for recording a message while recording a video from the screen of the Apple iPhone 14) Hold Press and hold the icon on the recording screen, press microphone to enable or disable it and press “Start Recording,” it will start a 3-second countdown and then start recording.

7-ย Seventh step:

To stop recording, you can open the control center (point 5 of this tutorial) and click the stop recording button on the recording screen icon or click the red line on the status bar at the top and press stop.

8-ย Eighth step:

A message will appear at the top of your Apple iPhone 14 screen stating that the screenshot has been saved to Photos (formerly Camera Roll).
To view and share your recorded videos on your Apple iPhone 14 screen, open the Photos app, where you will find them last.

The director of Chapter 4 credits ‘The Warriors’ with significant cinematic impact

0

John Wick: Chapter 4 is influenced by the cult classic The Warriors, according to director Chad Stahelski.

The film was hailed by critics as one of the greatest action films ever and was a resounding success among fans. Now, the creative forces behind Keanu Reeves are discussing some of the influences that went into making the film.

Sitting down for a chat with CBR.com recently, Stahelski said films like Walter Hill’s 1979 film The Warriors helped influence a fourth Wick film. “I always watched The Warriors when I was a teenager. I think it’s the most incredible – all the bands, like Baseball Furies. It just went back to the back of my mind.

Warriors helped influence John Wick: Chapter 4. CREDITS: NATURAL

Stahelski went on to say that certain scenes in Hill’s film allowed him to find a way to incorporate the music he wanted in the film into the script. As it turns out, having a “handsome radio DJ” playing music and reading out advice was also the perfect way to pay tribute to The Warriors.

“We wrote the script for John Wick: Chapter 4,” explains Stahelski. โ€œWe needed a way to consolidate all the different things. We always have a battle royale at the end of a John Wick movie. I could never make as much music as I wanted [in these films].”

Stahelski continued, “So how do I make it less silly and make a pin? Then we explored Paris. We saw the Eiffel Tower, and I thought, ‘What if there was a radio station there?’

“And I was like, ‘We’re going to have a DJ. And then we will paint it black and put in some fantastic songs. And we’re going to have this, you know, beautiful DJ doing all these things – and we met Luce, who was an excellent pop star โ€“ so we cast him in that [role], and it was a great way to bring him in music and a tribute to something I loved so much as a kid.
