NASA chose Elon Musk’s SpaceX project as the winner of a million-dollar investment to design a spacecraft that can reach the Moon.
NASA announced its recent millionaire contract with the company SpaceX , created and led by businessman Elon Musk , with the purpose that this is the one who helps create the ships that will be able to reach the Moon.
SpaceX has been working for a long time on an initiative called Artemis, in which manned space trips are planned and organized. Its main intention is that eventually civilians can access the space . For example, they seek to create a tourism offer to planets like Mars.
However, another of his main lines of research is the possibility of accessing the Moon in a simple and, eventually, daily way.

Due to the advances that SpaceX has made in this area, NASA determined that the company led by Elon Musk, a businessman who has managed to attract other million-dollar investments for his company SpaceX in a few months, was the best option to invest.
Controversy
The announcement of this millionaire investment by NASA for SpaceX generated controversy in other companies with similar interests such as Blue Origin, the rocket company founded by Jeff Bezos that seeks to compete directly with that of the other tycoon, and among the members of Dynetics , an Alabama-based company, which had submitted its own proposal. And it is that both were defeated by the proposal designed by SpaceX for the design of ships that can access the Moon , an initiative that is already being developed by the company in South Texas.
The vehicle
The SpaceX project for which they received these millions from NASA is called Starship. This will be a ship that, until now, has not had such promising results since it has exploded on several occasions at the time of landing, but that promises to continue studying until it gives rise to the best vehicle to travel into space.
But not everything is bad news for Blue Origin, since they have also received important support from NASA to carry out investigations that guarantee the safety of the astronauts of this agency of the US government.

Part of the Artemis project also includes the development of a giant rocket that is designed to carry the Orion crew capsule to the Moon. The idea is for the astronauts to reach lunar orbit first, then for the crew to travel to the Gateway space station, and from there, the spacecraft will take the astronauts to the lunar surface.
